Oh, a fish tank.....what sort of fish do you keep David.
My OH used to have several huge tanks of tropical fish which left me cold. Once the job of cleaning and feeding started to fall to me he very quickly decided he did not need the fish as much as he thought he did.

in the small tank there are some cat fish and 2 clown loaches and 1 male guppy, in the big tank there are a heap of cat fish, 2 pearl gouramis, 2 clown loaches and 3 corydoras.

i can do a water change on both tanks and have then back to normal in between 3/4 of an hour and an hour.
i have a system worked out.
the big tanks looking good just now.
little one needs some plants cut back.
