i feel i need to say

i know Rosie has a life thousand of cats will never experience and that makes me very sad.

the knowledge so many are put to sleep (or worse) because of nasty humans makes me very upset.

the laws are never quite good enough in my view, thay are imroving but not fast enough.

we are suposed to be this most intelligant species but we let the side down on the care of animals so often.

David, you're doing your part in helping.  You can't dwell on it.

Humans can be terrible animals.  But there's only so much you, personally, can do.

My cat was abandoned/dumped - who knows?  But I found her as a teensy kitten in a

garden centre.

The vet told me she was about 4 weeks old at the time.  She just turned 15 last week.

She is now deaf and has the loudest cry ever. She's not in pain, but she miaows loudly a lot.  Drives us nuts.

But we gave her a better life than she was having, so we've done our part, I think.

That's all you can do IMO.   Don't dwell on it.

We can't save them all.  My current cat is from the RSPCA.  In the past I've also adopted cats from shelters or taken in strays...but every time I do it I'm aware that it is just the tip of the iceberg.

There have been improvements like compulsory desexing, microchipping, cat curfew, but there are always people who won't do just the basics..

Mind you, as long as I'm talking about rules, I'd dearly like to tell the Council what I think of their $50 a year cat registration.  Talk about paying money for nothing.

At the moment I've saved one cat from an unhappy life.  She's content and affectionate towards me, but not tolerant of other cats, so there's just her.  Saving her is better than saving none.

David, you are not alone in doing something good.

Kindness is kindness...

Jerusalem spends $40,000 on cat food after new garbage bins leave strays hungry.
