I've always said that just because they're dead, it doesn't make them a good person.

People don't like to speak ill of the dead.

But if they were right mongrels in life, so they are still, when they're gone.

My parents are firmly of the opinion that no one should speak ill of the dead....especially at their funeral. 

When a relative died they attended her funeral....and my mother was appalled when the deceased's children told it like it was about her as their mother.  I wasn't surprised - I didn't see her very often when I was a kid but I was scared stiff of her. 

Mum told me what was said and clearly she expected me to agree with her. opinion  I just laughed and said (of the rellie): 'She'd had it coming for a LONG time."
