Nice start, Cat.

DDB, maybe you need to get some ideas that only take 5 - 10 minutes ... that's how I often get my fix.  Earlier today, it was tracing and drawing a fish  ... not a great result, but relaxing 🙂

Sorry I haven't been in to check out all the new pics lately, but I'm glad I had a look now.

Hoping some got their creative juices flowing and started or completed an artwork?

The experiment I'm doing is taking a long time to dry as it's been raining and a bit humid...will take a pic for sure when I finish it.

Went to the art gallery during the week with my art students.  Russell Drysdale and Lyod Rees.  Some great pen and wash by Rees and I love how Drysdales work can be seen over time to be evolving and how he tried different styles etc.

I love trying anything new but still after all these years, find water colour to be really frustrating.

How is your water colour coming along moonlight?

and hope others will show pics of what they've done during the week?

🙂

Moonlight I love it. I love the simplicity and the colours.

I would hang that on my wall

wow!

Great job, Moonlight 🙂

I've been playing/experimenting for the last few days ... I painted a portrait of a woman that I'm quite pleased with ... just a 5 minute, three colour picture ...

I painted a leaf gold earlier today ... used acrylic paint on a coleus leaf ... I don't think that is going to work.  The leaf is not strong enough to bear the weight of the paint ... I might try using a leaf from another plant ...

I used jewellery elastic thread to add gold and silver acrylic paint to a prepared oil/acrylic canvas sheet ... it needs more colour ... thinking about that ...

Thanks folks. 🙂

I will be starting another watercolour project today. Also ordered a  better watercolour paint set and am waiting for it in the mail.

katy, sounds like you had fun with painting. Never heard of using elastic thread as a brush, but the textures would be nice. How is your wind chime project coming along?

Thanks, Moonlight ... I know I can't draw or paint very well, so I look for other ways of doing things and using unusual "tools".

I used silver paint in straight lines (like a not too symmetrical map) and then kind of "whipped" gold paint on the elastic thread to create circular lines ... yes, the texture is nice, don't quite know where to go with it now, though.

The windchime project is on hold until I find my bracelet size memory wire.

Have you tried watercolour paints in tubes?

Looking forward to seeing your next project 🙂

Right now I am buying the cakes in the palettes. Once I use up the cakes, then I will buy the tubes and reuse the palettes. 🙂

Sorry I've not been here....still trying to make my camera work.   it keeps telling me that it's full and I haven't worked out how to delete images. derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

nice work moonlight
