It rained today, and it was cold for good measure... ha ha...

This evening the old man birds were sitting fairly high in the tree...

I went out to check on them,  and they decided to have some fun at my expense - they've discovered that if you shake a wet branch, a cascade of water droplets falls... this is of course even more amusing if I'm underneath the tree when it happens, ha ha...

If the weather man's to be believed it shouldn't rain for another week, so I should be 'right for a while... ha ha....

A cold start to the day led into an equally cold morning - some 6 degrees at 11.30 am - there's something not altogether right about that.... ha ha.

The younger cockatoos decided to sit around and mope until the sun came out early in the afternoon...

With their departure, I could give the old man birds some breakfast without having to worry about someone else eating it, ha ha.

The old men passed the afternoon sitting in the sun, occasionally waddling over to whichever shelf was closest, for another nibble, then back to their favoured spot...

This, they have decided, is how growing old should be... ha ha...

There's an old man bird that's a regular visitor who likes, as the other birds do, to eat out of the seed box...

The thing with the other birds is that if I hold up the seed box for them, they take two, or maybe three beakfuls of seed at a time...

But not this old man... ha ha... I think his best, so far is nine consecutive beakfuls of seed before he stopped...

He says it's because he's got Depeche Mode syndrome...

He just can't get enough...

He just can't get enough...

He just can't get enough...
