That pop sound I heard was a tendon sheath rupturing...

The scan showed old scar tissue, so at some point in the deep, dark past, I've ruptured the sheath before.

It's not life threatening, it's not even particularly glamorous, and given six to eighteen months, if I can be that patient and wait that long, it should heal up pretty well.

Or rupture again, ha ha...

At least next time round I'll know not to bother asking anyone for help, especially the people who are so eager to fall over themselves asking me for help when it's their "crisis".

A suggestion involving a long walk and a short pier comes to mind... ha ha...
