if every person who swore was arested and shipped off to jail, well....?
and taking a simple 'fail to wear a seatbelt' and turning it into WW3?
where are we heading with our police?
i see this kind of policing in videos from the USA
in neither of these cases were our brave officers in any danger, mearly power tripping!
in both cases, just write the tickets and move on, the police are not there to be 'feelings' police.
no, swearing isnt nice but in todays world its hardly unusual to a cop.
dealing with people who may not understand whats going on, like foreigners, should be handled with professionalism, not like an angry school boy.
as for demanding someone brings a passport to the scene?
i thought the driver was held responsible if a passenger was not wearing a seatbelt, so why treat 'mum' like that?
somethings going wrong in the training of police if this is what we are getting for our money.

does anyone really believe this cop will be found guilty of murder?
what i see is a scapegoat for a failed system.
so a young man died because another young man was given a gun as a last resort defence to fear for his life.
under trained and under staffed police working in remote australia, recipe for disaster.
so he shoots, the locals become very angry another of their 'mob' has paid the ultimate price.
it gets ugly, the authorities need to cool it down.
'i know says some bright spark, we will arrest the kid with the gun for murder, problem solved'
we all know when it gets to court there is no way he will be guilty, he feared for his life, prolly with good reason.
prosecution has to proove he planned to kill, he didnt, until he took out the gun and fired.
one boy dead and anothers life ruined.
not to mention the families

Murder is premeditated.
He definitely will get off.
All three officers are guilty of criminal negligence.
They dragged him back to the police station and just watched him die.
The RFDS is also guilty of criminal negligence.
Coppers life isn't ruined though.
He is on a paid vacation now and the big wigs would have fully explained how this was all going to play out.
He would have agreed knowing that to the uneducated it looks like he's in serious trouble but that would only be true if he'd been charged with manslaughter.
If the prosecution can successfully downgrade it to involuntary manslaughter then the charge may stick.
It'll be interesting to see exactly what happens.
