It has just been explained as a cyber attack.

A flood.

Not a thing to do with understaffing.

latest report, oops, it wasnt a cyber attack

15 all

oh, and its 2 different things,

the online site has crashed from failing to handle the traffic

and ive just seen tv report showing lines of people right out of centerlink offices and down the street!

i can go back to ignoring you now

It was explained as a cyber attack on the site.

Which caused the long lines at Centrelink.

Due to no-one being able to access.

There is quite a nasty side - isn't there.

MyGov hit by cyber attack.

The Federal Government has confirmed the MyGov website, which is used to access Centrelink services online, was hit by a denial of service cyber attack this morning.

A denial of service attack is where hackers flood a website with users so that the site becomes overloaded.

It's the type of attack that was used to bring down the Census website in 2016.

Demand for MyGov services has risen dramatically, with many Australians who have been stood down due to extra coronavirus restrictions seeking access to unemployment benefits.

This was no cyber attack, nor was there an attack when the election site crashed some time ago. The security system simply sees it as an attack when multitudes of people all try logging onto one website at the same time, and shuts down to protect itself. Myself and my family predicted both before it happened. Computer systems cannot tell the difference between a denial of service attack, or a massive overload.

This from radio Parliament this afternoon ...

no cyberattack.

MyGov is set up to handle 50,000 enquiries.

As of yesterday it got 90,000 so crashed.

To be expected, systems can't be changed overnight.

I do feel so sorry for those in dire need.

I got that Bright - thank you.

You are not on ' ignore ' . lol
