I was tidying upp ahead of the possums getting up and the police helicopter flew low overhead...
Just to clarify, if he'd flown any lower he would've clipped next door's TV antenna and tore it from the roof... ha ha.
Those guys get to have all the fun, ha ha...

I have to officiate at a funeral, tomorrow.
We gather here to commit the body of our Sister to the ground...
Though she was taken from us while she was still young, we can seek comfort in the knowledge that she lived a full and happy life.
In this time of sadness we say farewell to her, sure in the knowledge that we shall meet again, one day.
It's a pretty standard text, but it does the job.
🙂

1.5 metre distancing...
Lemme see now... 1.8 metres is about 6 foot...
At a purely wild guess, my arm would be about 2 feet long...
So, to get 6 feet, I'd need just short of three arms...
So that's me, the other person, and then we'd need someone else to step in to fill the "not quite the length of an arm" gap...
But that'd break social distancing rules, so we can't go doing that...
I'm beginning to think that staying home isn't such a bad idea, now... it's all too confusing, otherwise... ha ha...
They'll want me to wear a mask, next...
I mutter and slur, at the best of times...
Do they know hard it is to write, in felt tip pen, on the front of one of those things "How's my enunciation?", ha ha.
I used to like it in the old days, before being barking mad became fashionable...
I might have been alone in the crowd, but at least I knew where I stood, ha ha...
On the plus side, there are moments where I feel positively sane, so something must be working in my favour, ha ha...

I thought I'd do some reading of my own about "alternative" face masks.
Peeing in a handkerchief and clasping over your nose and mouth as a means of surviving a chlorine or phosgene attack came to mind...
The subject of face masks quickly fell by the wayside because, let's face it, history is far more interesting... ha ha...
The first large scale use of poison gas during the Great War, on the the battlefield, was by the Germans in what was to become known as the Second battle of Ypres, on April 22, 1915.
https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/second-battle-of-ypres-begins
As 1915 dawned, it had become apparent that the war would not be over by Christmas, and so it became a war of attrition - grinding your opponent down by whatever means available, no matter how barbarous...
