Of course, those who did not see it coming, or did not have the extra cash to buy when they could, they will definitely be able to survive. But I thought I will be able to stay at home and not have t go to the shops at all and have milk, fruit and vedggies delivered; it looks like they will not do any fresh produce, or is this just for the vulnarable people, while the rest can stil shop on line?.
Fortunately, I saw this coming and from January I would throw extra packet of pasta in my shopping basket every time I went shopping. Wish I bought some dried fruit, never thought I would need to be substituting fresh veg and fruit. Luckily I have not yet got on top of bringing my feral garden under control after couple of years not being able to do anything while waiting for hip replacement. So I have plenty of self sown parsley, some of it is 3ft tall. I am sure I also have some other edible weeds there. Wish I bought more spinach and silver beet instead of one punnet each.

WOW!!!
"German officials confirmed that their delivery was seized at Bangkok airport and diverted elsewhere, without naming the perpetrator."
But how come that apparently we are getting equipment from the US? I saw on the American news that hospitals are paying $11 per mask, which normally are less than $1 😞

"As 3M is an American-owned company, the US was able to 'confiscate' the shipment of special FFP2 and FFP3 masks which were on their way to healthcare workers battling the COVID-19 outbreak in Berlin."

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine scientists announced a potential vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus causing the COVID-19 pandemic. When tested in mice, the vaccine, delivered through a fingertip-sized patch, produces antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2 at quantities thought to be sufficient for neutralizing the virus.

good old harvey sees an oportunity
just got an email from uncle harvey norman
taking advantage of the situation?
flogging washing machines, air purifiers, mattresses and pillows, blankets and sheets.
with this statement
"All of us recognise the importance of maintaining good hygiene at home. From your mattress to your washing to the very air that you breathe, these are the essential products that will help make good hygiene a reality"
ive not heard any official warnings we need new washing machines or that air purifiers will stop this virus!
what does harvey know they dont?
or is harvey trying to frighten people into thinking 'my old machines no good, i need a new one!'
