as this virus keeps spreading i feel for anyone not given a real choice about being required to keep working

people like doctors and nurses kinda signed up to be the front line against diseases, its part of being who they are for the most part.

my sister in law is a head nurse at a local old folkes home and she would love to stay home and be much safer, but she cant.

its people like staff at supermarkets and schools and pre schools (im sure there are many others)

they didnt sign up to be front line soldiers against this virus.

but are expected to put themselves in harms way in order to keep the wheels turning.

they are not trained in any kind of health care, the girls on the woolies checkout have bugga all protection, they have to touch things and be reasonably close to customers.

i touch everything i want to buy, she (or he) has to touch them to scan them

maybe we will see the scan yourself things being your only choice soon.

might be the new future of shopping, scan it and bag it yourself, no choice.

Checkout people should wear masks as many are young and so if infected display no symptoms yet shed all over the place - has been now advised that an infected person can spread the bug by just speaking , with a range of 1 metre or so  - perfect at the checkout !

Might be why once gets hold in a local population it spreads so quickly.

btw customers should as well - as in indoors and so the air is captive and stagnant

The checkouts should have powered air filters in use to trap any virus or bacteria - helpful for flu mitigation as well

Is a fight on two fronts - Coronavirus and Flu
