All the subcontracting is BAD news all around. It is bad for the workers who have no security, and it is bad for the customers, in this instance government, who thinks they are hiring well known reputable firm. I thought security guards are adult strong guys capable dealing with people who may not want to stay put in their rooms. It seems most of the guards, were teenage girls!

Security guards are not necessarily big beefy blokes.....all brawn and no brains.
My daughter has a security licence and a firearms licence.
She got her certifications in NSW......she had to be 21 but was quite petite.....5'4" and a size 8 at the most. She also had martial arts training from when she was a teenager and a licence to train and work guard dogs.
She certainly did not need a man to look after her although her OH also had a security licence.....he was army trained.....6'3" and built like a brick outhouse.
Security work is not all about controlling drunks and turfing trouble makers out of clubs and pubs.....those jobs usually went to the brawn and beefcake boys.
My daughter often worked at Randwick Racecourse on race day....she loved that job as she had worked for Gai Waterhouse and knew the jockies and stable hands. And she knew the vets and farriers from taking her own horses and ponies to them....and in her capacity as a vet nurse she had perviously worked with several of the vets.

The Queeensland 'wall' seems to be not working well.
The search is on for 185 people who were told to self isolate and didn't.

I hope they are - found - charged - fined.
I had to venture out today - Officeworks.
Not a mask to be seen - including me - but the social distancing was incredible.
Not one - closer than 6ft - not one in a hurry - and breaking the rules - plenty of sanitiser.
Actually very civilised.

Victorian coronavirus cases hit new record high with 484 cases, two more deaths
if 9 out of 10 victorians are not doing as told does it make victoria the dumbest state in australia?
the USA heads the dumbest country by a mile though

I am in Victoria in an LGA that has not had a COVID19 case for over 90 days. I also live in an area where 10/10 people are not subject to the restrictions in place in Melbourne. Makes sense to me.
