I didn’t know you had memory issues, the exchanges happened less than ten days ago.  Here, I’ll put the posts here all in one place (in spoilers) seeing as you brought the subject of the content of my PM here.

Here is where you posted that ‘9 out of 10 victorians are not doing as told’

if 9 out of 10 victorians are not doing as told does it make victoria the dumbest state in australia?

the USA heads the dumbest country by a mile though

You were taken to task by me and others, but doubled down on this ‘9 out of 10’ claim

how does it feel to know there are 9 people around you not doing the right thing?

that would make me pretty angry

Here is where I challenged your post

I am in Victoria in an LGA that has not had a COVID19 case for over 90 days. I also live in an area where 10/10 people are not subject to the restrictions in place in Melbourne.  Makes sense to me

david, you should read the article more carefully. Nowhere does it state that 9/10 Victorians are not doing as told.

Please be more careful when making dumb statements based on an article you provide a link to.

Spoiler
the article says "almost 90 per cent of people are failing to self-isolate when they become unwell".

Considering that a very low number of Victians as a % of the population is unwell it is untrue to post that 9/10 Victorians are not doing as they are told

Then this where you admit you got it wrong, but not an apology.  Even then you still got it wrong!  Again!

self correction

its 9 out of 10 people who have been tested who are not going home and isolating until they get cleared

it was written as 9 out of 10 so it read like out of all victorians

still, 9 out of 10 tested not doing the right things still bad

had i known what i know now id have seeked my test sooner

Here is where I correct your incorrect figures, again, and state that you should make a real apology.

david, careful now, wouldn’t want you to fall over while backtracking.

It isn’t even this:

@david wrote: “its 9 out of 10 people who have been tested who are not going home and isolating until they get cleared”

What the article that you linked to says is actually:

"Fifty-three per cent of people continuing to do their shopping, continuing to go to work continuing to do all sorts of things," he said.

Dont get me wrong, there is no excuse for not isolating while awaiting test results, BUT there is a big difference between 90% and 53% and a HUGE difference between any % of those tested and all Victorians which is how your post came across.

What it looks like (to me) is that in your haste to rubbish Victoria and Dan Andrews you saw what your posting predilection wanted to see in the linked article and then came here shooting your mouth off:

Coronavirus cases in Victoria have hit a record high with 484 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, as new figures reveal almost 90 per cent of people are failing to self-isolate when they become unwell.

and

He said he was "very unhappy and very sad" to report that nearly nine in 10 people did not isolate between the time they first felt sick and when they went to get a test.

The devil is in the detail.  How about a real apology for your post?

And here is where I did the real maths that debunks your ‘9 out of 10’ claim and show it is really 5 in every 10,000 Victorians.

okay, just saw the midnight news on abc.  They had the numbers of people in Victoria who make up the ‘9 out of 10’ figure that Daniel Andrews mentioned in his news conference.

3,400 people who had been unwell and didn’t isolate before being tested made up the 9 out of 10 that he spoke of, and that is appalling.

Vic population is about 6,359,000 (source: google Link)

% of unwell Victorians not isolating before being tested is therefore 0.053% which is 5.3 in every 10,000 people (far from 9 out of 10 which would be 9,000 in every 10,000).

Man up david, just say sorry!

There are now 11 cases in The Glenelg Shire, 7 in  Portland ( next Shire to mine ).  They were all started by a woman who travelled from Melb ( legally ) to care for her ill mother.  It went like the she had no symptoms thus didnt know she was infected when she arrived in Portland, she  passed it on to her mother, she went to a bank passed it on to a lady there, who passed it on her 2 kids and ( now dec hub.), he passed it on the at least  fellow worker in Heywood. All in the space of a week or so  ................. Shows you how fast this horrible virus can travel in a short time.

Wow, there’s a backhander!

I will admit that I haven’t made the mistake you seem to be saying you made, I have never thought that you were an intelligent poster. Prolific, yes.

LOL -- more of a ' one hander '.

Bedivere is one of the earliest characters to be featured in the legend of King Arthur, originally appearing in several Welsh texts as the one-handed great warrior named Bedwyr Bedrydant.

It is spelled/spelt - Bedivere.

Monty's Bedevere - oh well..

Is that not a case for everyone in transit needing to be swabbed , incl truckies

( such routine testing for non-presenting of obvious symptoms should not obligate isolation while awaiting test results - however a positive result should obligate strict isolation and subject to ruthless follow up by those with the powers to enforce compliance - also employers will be notified  )

Wake up other States and ramp up random swabbing
