YMW  we Viccies are all in this together, hope you and yours safe staying safe.   Am thinking we in the "sticks" will be  joining the Melb folk in shut down very soon, if it helps to stem the spread, then so be it

Portland is only 100km for me, getting a tad close, wont be going off my propery unless it's  URGENT

On July 28 I visited a shopping centre for about an hour. A few days later I learned that one of the two infected women who have been charged had a meal at the centre's Thai Restaurant on the 26th. I became pretty concerned but worked out that the three shops I visited were closed when she dined on the 26th. Nevertheless, it's been quite worrying and I can't help looking out for Covid symptoms.

The local community members are very angry and people have been lining up for tests. Woolworths are sending emails asking people to wear face masks in the store and Qld Health are making the same request. The Courier Mail has been merciless when reporting on the three women. The newspaper is referring to them as COVIDiots. It is different when it's closer to home - rather spooky.

Woolworths wants people in NSW and the ACT to wear masks from Monday.

The ACT hasn't had a case in 3 weeks (guess from where) and prior to that over a month. The nearest cases are over 200 kilometres away, near Sydney.

Seems to be an overreaction to me.

Are such overseas events a motivation for us in Australia to study and take heed if applicable here.  Are they ?, should they be ?

Have we a central independent foreign country experience gatherer & analysis of pandemic related data for input into local mitigation advisories ? Independent from global commercial interests, UN interests, WHO interests , local vested interests , indignant national interests , big pharma - strictly science with minimum fatalities as the objective ? just for a non-binding published second opinion
