Quick start testing aged care workers incl support workers on a daily basis , start mass random swabbing of the general public
Daily? Then make them self-isolate until the results come through? Then test them again and make them self-isolate, then...
It would certainly solve the problem of coronavirus in aged care facilities. There wouldn't be any residents of aged care after a few days of no care, no food, no water, no essential medication.
Good idea. Problem solved. After all they've already had a good life and are now a drain on the system.
random swabbing of those not showing obvious symptoms should not incur isolation until a positive result is notified -the British now have a proven 90 minute test device , extract digit

@go-tazz wrote:Last time I heard, they had 750 of people tested positive who they could not trace back to known source.
Most of those are cases from the last few weeks where they most likely have been infected by someone that is/was asymptomaic that may have been missed via contact tracing and hasn't come forward due to lack of symptoms.
That basically means they picked it up on public transport or shopping for groceries, most likely from asymptomatic person who was never tested, and have no idea they had it.
Or because some wont let authorities know where they have been or they have lied as to where they have been because they are selfish.
750 people with bad memories ?
Not likely just people that have no idea they were possibly infected by someone that had/shown no symptoms so were never tested and had no idea they infected others.
So basically someone who was asymptomatic who could've walked past and infected a dozen people and no one would've had any idea that's were they got the infection from.
Early on, the doctor who returned from America and went to his surgery for week saw about 60 (?) people before he was diagnosed. Those who saw him in his practice were contacted, but those that he stood next to in shops etc. could not. And even those contacted and tested could have become infectios before they were tested, and stopped showing positive by the time they were tested. For every person traced there might be another who had no idea they were in in contact with somebody infected. Back then people did not rush to get tested the moment they sneezed or coughed, and most people do have only mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.
I am very bad in remembering things chronologically, but I am quite sure that the hotel virus escape was after the Cedar Meats infection, which nobody knows where it came from. If I remember correctly, there was one worker who was on sick leave for injury, and he seems to have got it just before he stopped working, and therefore there was no connection made to him, but he seemed to be the first. Lot of the known infections came from there, and I am sure lot of those unknown too.
Thankfully, Dan was slow with relaxing restrictions, and now fast in introducing more. If he did as he was urged by the opposition, we would be in much worse position. Bad as it seems now, our numbers are not anywhere as terrifying as those overseas. So many places hospitals are running beyond their capacity. And we are learning something new and even more frightening every day.

and the Federal Govt providing false information - a security contractor, not a consular official
“The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade wrote to confirm the man was ‘travelling on essential Australian government business’,” Queensland Health said in a statement released late on Monday.
“He confirmed he held a diplomatic passport and provided his passport number.”
But, the department said, this turned out to be not quite correct

Selfish, self-entitled mongrels should have more than a fine ......or 2 fines.
If they ignore the stay at home order, then they'll ignore the fine, no matter how high.
Lock them in a hotel room with an ADF person on the door - at their own expense for 14 days.
