Speaking of the flowers that bloom in the Spring...
That wattle tree...
It's finally occurred to me why my nose has been so stuffed up, and my eyes a bit watery....
D'Oh! slaps forehead... ha ha...
Every year it happens, and every year I forget - hay fever...
Well good, that's that problem solved, now all I have to do is endure the next fortnight or so until it stops blooming... ha ha...
And I feel that I am perfectly within my rights to refer to it as "That blooming tree", ha ha....

Will wearing a mask help?
It might scare the feathers off the birds though.

I hadn't thought of that.
With the bushfire season coming, again, and the prospect of the air turning bright yellow from the smoke, again, they might have to get used to seeing me wearing a mask, ha ha....
I recall a simpler, gentler age when the Summers were hot, and the worst you'd face is sunburn...
Now it comes with a check list - spare medication, box with the important papers in it, torch... Change of clothes so you're not caught just wearing the clothes on your back...
Somewhere along the line, everything changed.
It used to be that the great dramas of life played out on the 6.30 news, now it's hovering on our doorstep, so to speak.
On a day when it looks like the best part of a quarter of WA is under a catastrophic fire warning, it brings it home how close it could get, and this is just the first day of Spring... There could be six more months, nine more months of this ahead....
Stay safe, people....

The great thing about social distancing is running into people that you haven't seen for a long time and remembering that "back in the day", they were a "hugger"...
But not any more... ha ha...
Thought for the day -
Every cloud may not have a silver lining, but expensive curtains with "thermal insulation" properties do, ha ha...

Don't think I hadn't noticed... ha ha...
Generally speaking, the galahs turn up in pairs, during the afternoon.
Of late, a single galah has been visiting several times during the day, and letting me know when it's here - "I'm here! I'm here!"... ha ha...
Sometimes it's a male... Sometimes it's a female...
Somewhere near here there a nest....
In weeks to come I'm going to be "serenaded" with the characteristic chainsaw rasping of a hungry baby bird...
At least they're letting me know that my work's going to be cut out for me... ha ha...
And if two eggs are laid... it's going to be twice the fun! ha ha...
