Seems there was a bit of misunderstanding - they were thought to have exemptions. 

 

No exemptions - 1 rule for all.

Even with neg results I hope they still have to do the 14 days in quarantine.

stawka, I am impressed that the police have copped it on the chin for this mistake. Admitting it publicly was the best thing to do, and I'm also glad that they've not pilloried the particular policeman/woman who specifically misunderstood.

 

It's highlighted that the rules for exemptions must be unambiguous, so that the police can ask to see the exemption pass or whatever it may be, and then know exactly whether the passenger does have an exemption, or must head straight into quarantine. Anything like this has got to be idiot-proof. (Not that I am calling the police idiots...)
