I wonder if people will complain that the players are getting preferential treatment, when everybody else is in lockdown? It's a hard one and bad luck for everybody.

The UK strain is highly infectious and is moving at an unprecedented rate.

By the time one case is confirmed positive, that person has infected who knows how many and they have then infected more.

Country Vic is not immune.

Better to be safe than sorry.

If great Melb is locked down, then no one can travel to country Vic and bring the virus with them.

And how do you know they're not already there and brought it to you?

Play it safe.

You know that's best

Have plenty here, musta known this would happen

One new coronavirus case recorded in Victoria on the first day of lockdown

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-13/new-coronavirus-case-on-day-one-of-the-lockdown/13151894

i think closing borders is a good plan, in theory

however this constantly anouncing 'we will close the border at midnight' is a very bad plan

telling the public they have x hours to recross the border or be stuck on the wrong side is asking for trouble

just as we saw a few nights back when for whatever reason a truck driver plowed into 2 other trucks killing himself in the process

could have been much worse

so my idea, close the boarder 'imediately' or 'at midday'

not at night

i heard reports there were hundreds of vehicles waiting in line that night, stopped in a 100kph zone.

a rethink is in order
