Just read this:

Public servants offered five days of paid leave if they are psychologically distressed by Australia ...

Is it just me, or does this seem over the top?

I was in government employment (teaching) when I had various family members die (aunts, uncles) and I was told that I was not entitled to any time off to attend their funerals as they weren't immediate family.

I took the time off as sick leave. They were willing to allow that subterfuge.

If someone is having genuine psychological problems or a breakdown, backed up with medical certificates, fair enough to be granted paid sick leave. But apart from that, it's time people grew a thicker skin & just got on with things. Does anyone at all get paid time off if they are upset by eg an election result?

It's only in Qld and it's for indigenous workers.

Nuff said IMO
