My problem is,if we believe in a God that set creation in motion then what Is this entity and how and why is it able to exist? Clearly it cannot be the patriarchal figure of the Old Testament or the Father figure of Christianity. It has to be something that exists outside of time and space yet can conjure up matter out of nothing. How is this concept more believable than anything put forward by scientists

I saw a lecture on youtube by Larence Krauss, a theoretical Phycisist. about a universe from nothing. It blew my mind. It's mind blowing to me that empty space as we see it in the universe, with absolutely no single matter in it has so much energy in it and weights something.
