Crikey, could you give me an example of behaviour that would provoke or deserve bullying?

i do get the feeling, that deep down, or maybe not so deep, someone knows exactly what Iza is trying to say.
well, whoever that is, do you reckon you could get em to say it in 25 words or less?

I absolutely agree with you Meep, people standing by and watching bullying without stepping in is the same as bullying
Absolutely agree with that statement.
It reminds me of something my mother drummed into me "It's one thing to see evil being done it's another to stand by and allow it to be done"
I know you've been through the wringer on these boards Trish but you've never let it stop you coming back here, you're one brave lady I think at times and a lot braver than others.

I don't believe anything ever deserves bullying so to speak, though I do stand by an earlier comment I made saying if you dish it out then you do need to be prepared to take it when it's given back.
but one example of behaviour that may provoke bullying is diplaying a socially unacceptable trait.
For example: when I first started law school I was pretty excited and used to post heaps of indepth legal stuff. I was just excited and would get carried away, but others here didn't like it and commented on it heaps and often very rudely.
So, now I try not to do that. Sometimes I fail, but I do try to minimize the opportunities that I give to others for "bullying" (used loosely) me about it.

Kids that are being bullied should never have any of the blame put on themselves. I think that is a poor approach and one that is used sometimes by schools.
Instead of dealing with the bully, they move the victim.

actually that scenario wasn't on my mind, and I have had one child who was badly bullied for a few years in Primary School, cos he's a bit different to most other kids. It was only by a few kids and the rest of his cohort were brilliant with him, but those few boys made life very hard for a while.
I was thinking about a recent occurence when I wrote that.
My son can't tie his shoe l;aces, so he has colarado velcro sandals for casual shoes. Apparently so does the school principal and a few kids were giving him a bit of flack over it.
It upset him for quite a while apparently, so once he told me, I took him and a friend shopping so we could buy him a pair of shoes that would help him to fit in better.
It solved the problem.

Meep, there used to be a time you could get away with not mentioning names. The mods got stricker somewhere around about the time the forum changed.
Signatures suck.
