Purple in my opinion ancestry.com is the best site, but there are others.

I just find it is the simplest one to follow and there is a huge amount of information there once you begin to get the way it all works.

The main thing is to remember to Google everyone you can and also real up on the history as you go along - wars and places and maps...

I started an ancestry thread here and Punch and flashie are sheer magic when it comes to helping you, so find it and ask them anything you might get stuck on.
