I had thought of that - but was reluctant to put the buyer in the same category as the seller - in this case.

Dishonesty on both sides - hello - makes eBay - a no go to buy anything.

And about as dishonest - as opening a ' received wrong item ' when no item was received at all.

dom... I agree with most of what you say.

However  the buyer could return an empty envelope.

I doubt this seller would issue a label.

Unfortunately, sending back an empty envelope won’t work either.
The seller will claim that the $3000 item “they” posted, isn’t what they’ve received and then the seller will win again. Unfortunately, Sellers can and do know how to play the system. Even to the point of getting the item back and not having to refund, or only having to give a partial refund.

I know we mostly say that the system is set up for the buyers to win, but that’s not actually true.

That empty envelope would have to weigh approx 3 kilos - AP - also put weight on a purchase docket.

The OP stated that the tracking was for an envelope... according to the Post Office.

Indeed - another bit of proof - had to even look up what an RTX 4090 was - wouldn't fit in an envelope. lol

To be more specific what package it was.

Straight from the AUPOST system, it says

Express Post Medium Envelope

Right - fit this into this :
