I am wanting to buy something that offers a further discount with a code.  When trying to access and use the code it comes up as only applicable when using Zippay.  I queried the seller and they said that Ebay supplied the code not the vendor.  Why is Ebay pushing another financial body when I was of the opinion they preferred to deal with Paypal and why isn't the code available for anyone wanting to pay immediately via any method.

eBay and Paypal went separate ways several years ago. Anecdotally, you won't be able to pay with Paypal on eBay from next year.

 

The code is a deal between eBay and Zip and, thus, is only available if you use the service providing the code.

It's just the way the discounts are set up in their T&C's.

 

Regarding eBay and Paypal, next year buyers won't be able to use Paypal on the platform any more.

It is rather simple if you read the T&C's

Try this bit.

Conditions. This offer entitles you to 15% off the pre-coupon purchase price (excluding postage costs) on Eligible Items during the Offer Period when you check out with Zip as a payment method (Single-use card is excluded), when you spend $50 or more (excluding postage costs) in one transaction, up to a maximum discount of $300 per transaction. Multiple items may be purchased in 1 transaction per person (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction). Zip is available for transactions up to the amount of $5,000.
