Thanks for the advice.I did contact my bank about it but  told them it had been settled  after i received email about a refund when i return it . Maybe i can try again, though

I did follow the process. They would have not sent me instructions on how to ret

urn it if it was already too late.

No.I am afraid i didn't  do that.  The guy from DHL  collected it.I did not post it, so i had no tracking number.

No, i did not do my own thing. I complained to ebay .If it had been too late to send it back they would  not have asked  me to return it for a refund

Ebay did close  the case . Sorry if i was not clear. If it was too late to return they would have said. They didn't. They sent an email with instructions on how to return it and said i would get a refund  3 days after it  had been inspected.

I did not do my own thing.I did make a complaint and if it was too late to return it,  they would have said, but they DIDN"T. They sent instructions on what to do and said i would get a refund 3 days after it had been inspected.  i followed those instructions to the letter.

Obviously it is too long or something then cos i have posted it about 3 times .

Apparently the email did not post.  Too long perhaps .

By the way, sorry with my being a bit short tempered with you. I probably was not explaining it well.

The mistake you made.......

Yes, you appear to have opened a dispute. Yes, you posted the item back. The big mistake you made was, you didn't ask ebay to step in and help within the timeframe. Therefore, the dispute timed out and closed automatically. Returning the item isn't enough. You have to ask ebay to step in and help (via the dispute, after minimum 4 days) if you don't get the refund. You only have 21 days from opening the dispute to do so. If you don't, the dispute automatically closes, which is what appears to have happened to you. If you don't ask ebay to step in and help, they assume that the issue has been resolved.

Sadly, you have lost your money this time. Read up on the ebay Money Back Guarantee in the help pages to ensure it doesn't happen again. Despite what you think, ebay are not to blame here (and no, I don't work for ebay).
