Ebay 30 day return is aimed at goods that arrive broken. It isn't a warranty service at all.

At least this seller has offered to help you out. If you had bought from a real store, you could at least have gone in there in person & maybe saved the cost.

If you bought some items elswhere eg such as tupperware, and wanted to return a faulty item, you would also need to pay postage.
