Repetitive copy/paste from old, superceded eBay pages about feedback are generally amusing, if only for nostalgia's sake.

Did you decide that the pages were superceded coops??

You should inform ebay so that they can remove the links

I found them all herehttp://pages.ebay.com.au/sitemap.html on the site map. There are afew other help pages there I want gone

Can I delete those as well?

Until then I guess that they are still part of the Help section.

I prefer to make my decisions as a member rather than from a biased seller/ buyer slant so that I can apply the same scruples whether I buy or sell.

However I can understand sellers wanting to push their business ethic/plan as the norm.

feed back should only be given 30 days after purchase and not a second earlier. Give feed back a few days after and something goes wrong with the item then what??? At least it gives you some leaverage. I think its a darn silly idea to give it after only a few days.

I reckon that Buyers should leave feedback for Sellers prior to paying. In fact, they should be forced to leave feedback before they are even allowed to bid! ๐Ÿ˜›

I have only been just a buyer. My personal view is that feedback should be left once the purchase is paid for and recieved by the buyer, so that if any issues arise (lost in post, damaged, etc) both parties have a chance to resolve them decently, honestly and respectfully before issuing honest feedback after the transaction. Thanks to AusPost, I personally have had a couple of items arrive a month late and one never turned up. However I was able to contact the sellers and they did a great job either tracking items down, or sending another one out in the case of the item that never arrived. For their efforts, I certainly gave them positive feedback, as they were willing to go the extra mile. I think that forcing buyers or sellers to supply feedback after payment is wrong because you are really only halfway through the transaction, and the party that leaves it may find it regrettable. It's a two way street, people...

Tongue firmly in cheek Coops?:^O

One option is both leave feedback anytime, but feedback remains invisible until both have left it, then both feedbacks become visible. That way one cannot influence the other, and if either does not leave it, they get non in return either.

many eBayers who both buy and sell will tell you they leave more feedback than they get.  Feedback is voluntary, so a system where feedback is only displayed IF both parties leave feedback would be bad on so many levels.

Think about it, a very dodgy seller DOES NOT send items and gives their buyers the runaround past the 45 days for a PayPal claim - we've read about that many times on the boards here.  So the buyers leave negative feedbacks . . . and . . . .surprise surprise . . . . the seller leaves NO FEEDBACK for the buyer.  Under your proposal no feedback would be displayed AND the sellers gets no negative.  Great system, eh!

Nah, that won't work - as Leader Of The Band points out, all the dodgy sellers would need to do is not leave any feedback, and their buyer's negs would be 100% blocked.
