Thank you Lyndal, that is salient advice & exactly the type of thing, I was after.

Information I & others may wish to take heed of, as not everyone knows all the ins & outs of everything about e-Bay.

I do not live for e-Bay or these forums as one can see, but can understand how some do.

As for why one would buy from this supplier after warranty issues:

There were 3 purchases including the last one.

I made no claim on 2 after product failure due to the fact that I was in the USA & replacement could not wait.

Unless the products in question were replaced quickly the fish in my 1500 litre pond, would have suffered.

In the interest of expediency & make things easier for my neighbour who was looking after my fish/place, I ordered replacement products on e-Bay from the supplier, as I knew they would be delivered quickly [something he did do right].

What else would one do when they didn't know what caused the problem/s?

We are not talking mega bucks here, but between $100-200 items protecting fish worth mega bucks.

When I returned home these items that ceased working were repaired by myself buying the component part/s that failed, from another source.

One of the 2 products ordered is what failed next I I decided to pursue ONLY after a local repairer tested & told me it was unrepairable. Again I had no intention of claiming warranty but getting the item repaired.

Why did I pursue this case for $130?

When this vendor suggested I was a warranty cheat after he had changed his warranty & adding clause obviously not thinking I had the original warranty statement on e-Bay saved when I bought the product.

Then I started searching for information about this trader & found a long thread on this sellers forum, started by him regarding how people were cheating him & how to get out of all these warranty issues he was having with the same product.

BTW The Tribunal member said the added clause was not an out or applicable under Australian consumer law, anyway.
