I manually sniped several auctions last night. One I didn't win because the underbidder must have had a higher bid in early. I bid using my phone. I had the amount I wanted to bid sitting there on the screen. When the counter was down to 3 seconds, I submitted the bid. I don't need a program, that's how I do it. If the OP has an issue with me doing that, too bad. It's my choice to bid in the last few seconds and majority of the time, it pays off. I am not breaking any rules. Nowhere, anywhere, does it say you can't place a bid in the last few seconds, because it's unfair on bidders who decide to bid early.

I refuse to bid early because it seems to force the other bidders to bid higher if they really want it. By me waiting the last few seconds, they don't have time to increase their bid. It also means I often pay less than I'd planned because no one has time to bid to bump me up to the max bid I put in.  One item last night I got for $50 less than my max bid. If something is finishing in the middle of the night, or while I'm at work I put in an early bid. 9 times out of 10 I don't win those auctions. It still makes the eventual winner pay more than they would have had I not bid.
