That is completely and utterly incorrect. The sale of e-cigarettes NOT containng nicotine is completely legal in all AU states. It is only the sale of nicotine itself (a S8 poison) or the sale of e-cigs which contain nicotine which is illegal.

The previous links cover Qld & NSW, but apply also to the rest of AU. As long as no therapeutic claims are made, and the item contains NO nicotine, they are legal to sell and own in AU.
Prove it yourself (if you're capable). Simply Google: Are e-cigarettes legal? If you'd done so before spouting off with all of your BS, you'd have discovered exactly the same as I did, that they are NOT illegal in AU, so go pull your head in.
Google throws up contradictory results CQ - http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-06-04/e-cigarette-debate-in-wa/5497842
"Last month the WA Supreme Court ruled that e-cigarettes that do not contain nicotine still breached the tobacco control act which prohibits any "food, toy or other product" looking like a cigarette or cigar"
As far as I can tell as a person with no expertise on their use there are valid concerns regarding their use http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/more-health-groups-call-for-ecigarettes-ban-despite-objecti...

However, what it did prove is that there is way too much ignorance regarding the things because the presenter actually thought that e-cigs contained nicotine and were used in a similar manner to NRT (nicotine replacement therapy). In fact, liquid nicotine is only available on prescription and all of today's e-cigs are nicotine-free. The nicotine is added to the e-liquid, which then becomes illegal, but not the e-cig itself.
In a basic e-liquid, the ingredients are Vegetable Glycerin 80% and distilled water 20%, both of which are completely inert and totally harmless for ingestion by humans. It's a food additive F F S! I'm sure the time will come when we have a better idea of where things stand but right now (on the east cost, at least) they are perfectly legal.

I agree with your post re ignorance, I freely admit mine.
However your post does not address the WA supreme court ruling and ban on on e-cigarettes that DO NOT contain nicotine.
You have stated there are no such bans in Australian states and asked people to google to confirm this. I have done this, and posted some results that appear to be contrary to your post and claims.

just my thoughts on the subject
e-cigarettes are the best invention in the past 10 yrs for me
i was a smoker for 30yrs now saved thousands by useing e-cigaretes
there only illegal in my eyes because the goverment aint makeing any money from them
the taxs on a cigarette is embarrising
$180 for a carton of benson and hedges in australia
$20 for the same carton duty free in most countries
the health benefits alone from useing e-cigaretes should make them legal
just my thoughts
i was in paddys sydney mkts last friday 3 sellers were openely selling e-cigarettes and the juice
im in w.a and they are totally banned for sale at any mkts
i get my supplies from nz

Joe I don't think you are wrong, but please show some sympathy to the little guys. Cq is not a drug peddler, they sell this in milkbars here in Victoria.
