Judy, take it from a buyer who has been subject to these automatic disputes....your buyers will not be happy if they are waiting for further auctions to finish.
Automatic disputes may be OK for very high volume sellers where it is easy to lose track of who has paid, but all it will do for low turnover sellers is lose them a potential return customer.
When the auto disputes were first implemented I was buying large numbers of relatively cheap items from the USA where the seller was encouraging buyers to combine postage for items finishing within 10 days. I was a bit annoyed when the first dispute was opened and contacted the seller to remind her that I had notified her that I was bidding over the next 10 days.
Her reply was that she was sorry but it was automatic and just ignore it. I did ignore it but continued to get disputes opened every time the 4 days came up on a new item.
I finalised my purchases (well over $200) and never returned to that seller again, although I would like to as she has some great items.
