On other words, you were not checking ebay while on the cruise (and I understand why not as I know internet costs are hugely expensive on cruise ships).

 

But just for a few minutes, put yourself in the place of the buyer.

 

They bought an item, they paid, they waited. And waited. Maybe they even messaged you and got no reply.

You didn't record it as posted on the "My ebay" tab.

So they got anxious. They weren't to know you were on a cruise & that isn't their problem anyway.

 

 

The basic fact is if you sell something, you are expected to post it as soon as possible.

If you can't do that, don't list it.

 

Think of it as a learning experience, don't worry about the red dot but don't do anything like this again or you won't be popular with buyers.

To be honest, the answer for the first question would be that I had actually forgot that I have listed such item in Ebay. As I'm a set and forget person, with a chance of low sale probablity, so I was bit too surprised when that item was brought from during that time.

 "Did you think that your buyers would be mind readers, and know that you were away for a week?" Did you read that I said I tried to be honest with the buyer, but the buyer ignore all reasoning? Or did you read that I was more likely complaining about Ebay seller's policy than the buyer itself?

No unfortunately not, I only seem to know how to set the business handling time for no more than 3 days, so enlighten me on how to set things to vacation mode or whatever you just mentioned.
