I didn't explain that clearly, you add all the above expenses prior to setting your retail price. Why can't you do the same before you list your item?

Customers don't care how much you want for your item, plus shipping, plus PayPal, plus FVF. They just want to know how much you want for your product. They expect you to do the maths beforehand, and not expect them to do it before the purchase. (IE add the price for the item plus the postage).

The real problem here, is matching your competitors price, and still make a profit.

i include it in the postage cost, which is slowly dwindling away with all the Australia Post increases. I make prices up that I think is far. No business plan here.

far=fare

far=fare

no it doesn't

far=in the distance or on the otherside of the world haha

Yeah, I hear you. Postage just seems to go up and up, and the Aussie dollar down and down. But I can't see that changing unfortunately.

look its simple do you have a better wayplease answere. we will do a sample.

a book  sells for $20 + $10  postage  total $30  now before the changes ebay makes lets say 10% = $2.00

everybody is happy seller gets $30 with postage and   ebay gets $2

now how does ebay make there $2 from a $20 book if the seller sells the book before the changes for $5  and charges $25 for postage that means seller gets $30 and happy but ebay makes 50cents     thats a 75% reduction .    that would be like if the seller had a 75% reduction they would get not $30 they would get $7.50

now no good crying over spilt milk tell everyone backlogs how the seller and ebay can make the profit they need.

simple a $20 book     its $10 postage  and ebay should make $2 aprox allowing for what % you pay  for this excersise standard 10% as a lot do.

ps and also dont forget post with ebay and you get aprox 10% off    so if you are a store like me and pay 7% why arnt you given your buyers a 3% discount on postage  mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Only bit of that I understood was the last paragraph!

Joe, not all stores pay as little as 7%  ya know

Also stawka ebay would make $3 on a $30 sale not $2 so I hope joe doesn't do his own books lol

some pay 6%  i was quoting what i pay, and also atating no good complaining about fees on postage , whats your solution stoping sellers puting up huge postage costs to stop there fees if we did not have fees on postage
