"If you intend to bid on or purchase more than one of my sale items and would like to take advantage of a combined postage discount, please let me know that you will be delaying payment until you have finished buying from me. If you pay for your items separately they will be recognised as separate transactions by ebay and will have to be treated by me as such (ie, sent separately) in order that they are all covered by a tracking number."
Forwarned is forearmed !!
Sorry, I know we're getting slightly off topic here, but for anyone reading this thread & your comments bettyboops - and also just for your info - there are several threads regarding the issues with combined post, so I will try & be brief here -
I have had a note at the very top of my listing descriptions for ages, and have always had a note on my invoices regarding combined post, the sad thing is the majority of buyers don't read !! I even added a note earlier this year as a photo to several listings (thinking perhaps buyers only look at photos), but it makes little difference. BUT, anything that may help is worth a try in my book ![]()
I feel so bad when buyers purchase several of my low value items and pay separately, I actually send a message explaining I can combine in one package if they are happy for me to do so & ask them to choose an extra item as compensation - I know I run a risk of doing so as this is not within eBay's policy, but for me, as mentioned earlier, it's about happy customers. If the overpaid postage is very high I offer a refund - never had a problem to date (touch wood !)
