canceling the purchase wont stop the buyer leaving feedback as they still can leave feedback after the transaction has been canceled.

True - however eBay will definitely remove any feedback for cancelled transactions upon request.

It's part of their policy; if a transaction is cancelled, then (in their eyes) there is no transaction for feedback to left for.

I think you will find that ebay will not remove feedback in the case where the seller cancels the transaction for no good reason.  If the buyer changes their mind or asks for a cancellation and then leaves bad feedback they may do so, but not when the seller cancels and refunds when the buyer has done no wrong.

Nope. That's definitely not the case. A few months ago, I bought something from a seller who wanted to charge me more postage than was stated in the listing. When I refused, he refunded my money and cancelled the transaction. I left negative feedback of course, but this was quickly removed by eBay. The seller does at least have a defect now from the transaction. It's just a shame that I was unable to warn other potential buyers of the poor service.

That has served as a discouragement for others to use the boards I believe. It isn't always a case of telling someone your ID, that you personally know."

The way I see it, whatever I do online is never completely anonymous.  I always keep this in mind.

So do I. Which is why having one's purchases so readily available, was ridiculous. Imagine if any other online retail platform did it. Should be up to the individual what information they want available publically.

Buttercup: You mock my pain! Man in Black: Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

I'm almost sure that I would never need to purchase any seeds or ladies apparel but, in case I have a change of heart, or in the unlikely event of any other sort of change, then it's reassuring to know that you will cancel any sale I might attempt to transact.

Now, could anybody please tell me how to make my FB private? IMO nobody needs to know anything about my purchases or what I say about a sellers performance, or how a seller might rate my performance and I would like to know how to keep this private information from reaching the snoops who think they have a case for needing to know.

Go to the Feedback Forum.....Feedback tools on the right hand side....Make Feedback Public or Private.

But that is not the only way anyone can see your purchases.

Thanks l - done. Yes I think I have prevented that snoop place from divulging any info. Have I told you lately that I think your great?
