As far as I can see members would be as lazy about opting in as they were about opting out.
The option was always on Watchcount to opt out....long before the steps were posted on the ebay boards.
Whenever members asked how we knew what item they were talking about they usually received a PM to tell them. It is not as though information was splashed all over the internet about the site and the whole thing only became an issue when a certain poster would not let it go and then the steps to opt out were posted.
Funny how all the hoo haa resulted in ebay's request to pull the site.
A bit like the Hijack Hunters IMO....they quietly went about their task but once their work became well known they were shut down.
It looks to me as though ebay wants to shut down any site or function that may help members in any way.
If they don't like members helping other members maybe they need to make Customer Service reps available to do what we do in our free time.
