The OP actually boasted about bribing the PO stuff to turn a blind eye to their parcels and let them go through as letters, so I don't think the comment was harsh at all. Yes, the PO are also at fault for letting them through, but as someone who was subjected to severe bullying when I worked in a local op shop for a while, I can well imagine how the staff felt and why they let it go (until now).
