I'm expecting her to escalate as soon as she can because I told her that as the tracking shows as delivered, she won't be getting a refund from me. If the tracking was showing as in transit still, I'd have no hesitation in refunding her. I am also expecting to get negative feedback. Even more so if eBay finds in my favour (which I'm not confident will happen). I don't care if she does. That account doesn't even have a yellow star yet, so I'd just write it off and start again with another one that's sitting here idle doing nothing. Although the frequency she appears to be on the computer, feedback time will be expired before she gets to it.

I loved the bit where she told me she'd never buy from me again. Guess what sweetheart, I'd already taken care of that, even on my other accounts she doesn't know about. Like that would bother me! Maybe she thought I'd go broke without her custom.

She closed the dispute today. I think she realised that she wouldn't win. As predicted I now have a nice shiny red dot. I'll give eBay a call on Tuesday and see if they'll remove it given she admitted that the item was at her post office. I'm not confident they will, but stranger things have happened!

Well, there you go. I replied to one of the emails I sent to eBay over the last week to see if they'd remove the feedback. I figured it couldn't hurt. They replied within minutes and they are going to remove it! It will be gone in 24-48hrs they reckon. I guess that's what happens when you approach them calm and polite, and keep reinforcing how grateful you are for their help.

It will be interesting now to see if buyer fronts up on the buyers forum complaining that her feedback was removed. I told her eBay would remove it (even though I really wasn't expecting them to!). Note to buyer, don't assume that a seller with only 5 feedback has no idea what they're doing. Hee hee!

Good to hear - it's always a pleasant surprise when eBay backs a seller up and does the right thing. 🙂

Will redo post.

Do we as sellers, seeing as though it's our public holiday, get double time and a half?

I know eBay don't read the forums, so no brown nosing going on, but I could not fault any of the customer service staff I dealt with. Each message I sent, including the first, was responded to in less than 10 minutes. Most of the replies weren't cut and paste either. I'm mostly shocked that once again, everything was sorted via messages rather than having to call.

I know there are plenty of eBay haters in the forums, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

oh yes, definately double time and a half....

lets see, going on my sales the last week that'll be, um, nothing...doh!

i have no major complaints re ebay. yes theres a few glichy things and losing my free relists was/is annoying.

but my one call to customer service went well, they called me very quickly and sorted my problem.

having read so many horror stories i really didnt want to make that call, glad i did tho

you know what I think?  I think dave sorted it out.  He is very clever, and carries lots of weight around here.  Apparently, he is a mod AND works for eBay, and we know HE reads the boards.

edit:  I think I just saw dave on TV . . . . poolside at the Olympics . . . . . coaching our relay team!  Go dave!
