I had a case opened against me for not as described. Guy claiming item was different size. Yet I photographed everything except the care instructions tag. He sent a photo of a care instructions tag showing a different size to what I advertised. Thought this was odd given it was Hugo Boss. Anyway I accepted the return. Received the item back, got a completely different item. eBay then closed in the buyers favour.
Furious, I contacted eBay. They said "BEFORE" I accepted the return, I should have phoned them as they would have been able to close the case in my favour given it was buyers remorse but since he returned an item they have to find in his favour regardless that I received back a completely different style pair of well worn jeans when mine were in near new condition.
given you have all the messages from the buyer, RING eBay and they should be able to close in your favour.
when a dispute is opened against a seller, the money is taken out of the Paypal account and put on hold until the dispute is closed, in which case if eBay find in your favour the money will be released back to your PayPal account.
