Police are appealing for the public’s assistance after a postal worker’s van was stolen at knifepoint in Altona North yesterday.
The victim, a 37-year-old Tarneit man, was making a delivery in Rosala Avenue around 12.30pm.
Investigators have been told he returned to his white 2012 Toyota Hiace van when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.
The offender made demands for the car keys before getting into the van and fleeing the scene.
It’s believed the Hiace van registration ZDQ 511 contained approximately 100 undelivered parcels.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
The offender is described as being Caucasian in appearance with a medium build, short black hair and clean shaven.
He was wearing a black short-sleeved top with black pants.
Anyone with information in relation to the armed robbery or who has seen the delivery van is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
