Just looking at my account. and I see that I am being charged $7.40 for a 500g bag which is the going rate but I am getting hit $0.77 for the final value fee on shipping. I thought the FVF on shipping was 9.9% like all other FVF fees

Did someone change something ?

The shipping fee is calculated against what you actually charged and collected from the buyer for shipping, not what eBay charged you for the 500 gm bag.

You should actually get charged $0.73 so getting charged $0.77 is way over the top.

This you charge $7.80 for post x 9.9% =0.77c.

Ebay is charging you the fee on the money that changes hand, not how it is broken down. That is how they combat fee evasion by sellers manipulating shipping costs

So instead of charging your buyer $7.80 for postage you should be charging them $8.27 if you don't wish to lose on the deal.

The 9.9% fee on $8.27 = $0.82

So you are left with the $7.45 that you actually have to pay ebay for the postage label.
