The Netflix Tax is only on the fees, not the postage component.

Yes we know that the postage we purchase has GST included.
But could it be said that eBay are selling a service to us. It not a direct purchase from Australia Post to the seller as we pay eBay.
ebay pay Australia post and I'm sure there is a profit in it somewhere.
I have read that the GST will be added to our final monthly figure (which includes postage cost) and I have read it wont be added to postage.
I have not read anywhere a statement from eBay regarding postage cost.
eBay's statement on 1/6 does not explain how it will be applied.
"From 1 July 2017, Goods and Services Tax (GST) will apply to fees on eBay.com.au, due to new legislation in Australia (the "Netflix Tax")."
eBay have not made a statement as to what fees will be subject to the GST, their statement is open to interputation and need to be clear up so we all understand.
It's not a hard question to answer - Will postage purchased on eBay be subject to the second GST

I will stick my neck out and say the GST impost will not be levied on the AusPost charges portion of our monthly accounts.

I have had conflicting statements about postage costs. Several Customer Services Officers have told me that the GST will apply to everything - a simple 10% tacked onto the total of your monthly invoice. The last comment stated "All fees (including FVF) will be charged GST. The Shipping & Postage charges will not be charged GST. Please note difference between postage charges & eBay fees. Shipping is not an eBay fee so is not charged GST."
So who knows!!

Given that ebay do charge a fee on shipping, it's probably not the second one.
