Recently eBay is half dead, my last sale on eBay was over a month ago. Lucky I don't limit myself to one site only and I would suggest you do the same if you can, find a suitable alternative, especially with increased eBay fees as of 1 May,

The main reason for dramatically slowing sales is the absurd postage costs. I usually offer postage at below what AustPost charges, because frankly I would be ashamed to ask as much as they do.

Hi All, I have a couple of posts on and have been keeping an eye on them for replies, I clicked on and saw this title and thought I was viewing the UK seller forums/boards... it's just the same over here, so many sellers complaining about lack of sales.

Hope things improve for everyone soon, all the best from the UK

Same thing happened to us sales just stopped almost 2 weeks then picked up stopped again

Do you think its the new gst

This thread is over 4 years old.  There have been hundreds similar since then.

As always there are many reasons sales slow down.  Look around at the B & M stores!!!!!!

No, it is not the GST on fees....that does not start till next month.

I don't see how that could have any effect on sales anyway.

Last weekend we had our best sales in a long time, this weekend, zip!

I've no idea what's going on but it's very ugly.

Can we just all accept the fact that sales drop off every now and then,

and stop making a big deal out of it?

How many threads do we need complaining about something that will always

be a part of selling on ebay?

It's like it's a new thing......just sayin'

Retail as a whole is on EOFY sale or clearance at the moment, which is compressed by the decline of retail in the last 10 years. On top of that, eBay has been removing the 'active content' which means delays as happens with any update they go through. A lot of people are also hesitant to spend money coming up to tax time, and I imagine eBay is doing these updates knowing that there is going to be a mid year flurry post tax returns.

But some more sales would be nice 🙂
