Once you've finished reading all the current messages you want to read, go up the top and click on "board options". Then select mark all as read. That way when someone does drag up a dead thread you get taken straight to the new message, not spend 10 minutes reading before you realise.

it's nothing about the price, it's about the sh*t ebay platform. ugly, not user-friendly.
i would choose Taobao or Amazon, even Gumtree. Ebay is my last option.

yes ebay is dying, i have noticed it too. they have tried to push (and succeeded) all second hand gear to Gumtree. i used to buy and sell everything on ebay, now I only buy occasionally. I now sell everything on Gumtree and local Facebook groups. its free, damned quick generally and pretty easy.
Interestingly they have just tried a new campaign to get people back.. i think the damage is done, i wont be back and cant be bothered wih the fees, restrictions, amount of time it takes.. ebay admin if you are reading this you destroyed your own market place and alienated the very customers that made it great and supported you ... completely insane!!

oh and one last thing that **bleep** me off, calculating paypal and seller fees on postage.... this really did it for me, it was the last straw. the thing is if they can easily remove the calculation from the postage. just a greedy money grab

You should have learnt over the SIX years since this thread was relevant. eBay was progressing to BIN even then; it is more slanted that way now.
Start your auctions if you don't know what something is worth at the minimum you want.
Simple. And not needing to resurrect dead threads to work out.
