A couple of months back, my systems drive died, and wih it went my free Win10.
New drive and I had to pay for a new Win10.
But I did, cos I love it.
All those large tiles to move around hahahahaha
Just took a look at Solitaire - don't see any adds, so dunno what that's all about.

I still have the free windows 10 and every few games adds for other games would pop up.
I gather you did not burn a copy of your system files before the hard drive died. Although I thought windows 10 was limked to the motherboard so a new hard drive should still allow you to download it again.

Hard drive just died with no warning.
My tower is old and the motherboard is next in line to die on me.
The free copy of Win10 would not let me download it again, no matter what I tried.
I even bought a key to try that way, but no go.
Got my money back for that.
Ran out of options and patience, had to buy a new copy and it's actually a better version.
So it ended up being a good thing, I guess.
