Make note of the time of your call, track the item numbers of any sales that end up need to be. 'honoured', and be prepared to chase up eBay CS for FVF deductions when you get charged the full amount for them.

And when you are chasing, do it via online chat you you get emailed a transcript proving what you've been told/promised etc. Saves a lot of time later when you can simply direct the next CS agent to a transcript of what the previous CS agent committed to.
