None of my competitors do, and when my average item price is about $9.00 with $2.70 postage, asking over $9-10 postage to get a tracked parcel would mean no sales. I usually spring for it if it's over around $40.
After posting this I sent notes to all of the customers whose orders semed to be overdue. I advised them that the mail was running slowly, and asked if they could let me know when the items turned up. More than half of them reported the items had just arrived, and one other customer thanked me for contacting them and said they weren't stressed about waiting a bit longer.
Best of all I got some nice feedback. It came across more as me being thoughtful and following up with customers.
I'm going to stick with my belief that I ssem blessed with an unusually reasonable customer base. I've only been negged once, and that was about 20 years ago.
