But I do not buy my postage on eBay because when you purchase on Australia Post you receive a discount if you post 5+ parcels a week.

If you send more than 5+ parcels a week it is better to use Australia post.
There is no reason for eBay to charge I think it is about 9% on postage.
Even if you do buy your postage on eBay, eBay would also get a discount from Australia Post
The postage fee is definitely a NON SERVICE FEE
And I agree if you offer Free postage - you have to factor the postage into your price which you pay fees on - so they get it either way.
eBay are big on saying not to rip buyer off with postage, maybe they need to take that approach with sellers.
I have always been honest with my customer regarding postage costs and the other day I refunded a buyer postage and it took about
1/2 hour to get my credit back from eBay. A total waste of time.
