Yeah, it's not a lot of money really.  I'm not pissed off, just surprised when people bid, win the auction and then have no intention of paying. I think that people like that really deserve a strike, but I don't really feel comfortable opening an unpaid item case and that's why I waited the 7 days after the auction ended.

As far as I'm concerned, I've determined it aint worth the hassall and risking the negative so i just send through a mutual close, and request they accept it, so I get my final value fees.

That was not the best thing to do.  He can reject the mutual cancellation and leave you NEG, or he can accept it and leave you NEG.  The only time he cannot leave you FB is if he does not pay and you close the case.  I close NPB cases on the 4th day the moment the option becomes available.

sorry jackie but its because of sellers who think like that, that you, and other sellers have these problems

if all sellers who came across these time wasters were to open and close the dispute, then with the correct blocks in place, such ''buyers'' would soon have no where to bid/buy and not pay.

please do the decent thing by all Sellers on eBay and open and close disputes as necessary.

thank you

~~ ~~ ~~ Those who do right, have nothing to fear.

I feel uncomfortable about opening the unpaid item case but I still did it because I agree with you, that sellers have to do something about nonpayers.  I probably should have opened the case 4 days after the auction ended but I thought I would give him 7 days because some people are relaxed in paying and I've had some slow payers who still end up paying.  How long do you wait after an auction has ended before opening an unpaid item case?

7 days is plenty of time to wait for payment.

You can actually open a non payer dipsute 4 days after the end of sale date then 4 days later close it.

This gives the buyers 8 days to pay or at least make contact.

Ok, so in future I'll open a UPI case 4 days after the auction has ended and they haven't communicated or paid.  Thanks for the advice.  🙂

If you wimp out and don't open a dispute you only help the buyer - not yourself or other sellers.
