I haven't listed anything since being signed up to Managed Payments yet TWO sold items since MP have been processed as MP, on two different IDs. That is, listings created prior to me being placed on MP.
I guess that means that what you have posted is just not true. It may take a while for all your payments to be Managed Payments, but once registered and verified your listings can be “managed” under the new MP system.
In fact, eBay state as much on their “Introducing Managed Payments” page.
https://www.ebay.com.au/help/selling/getting-paid/introducing-managed-payments-ebay?id=4795
From that page (with bolding by me):
After you register
After you register, we'll activate your account for managed payments, which can take between a few hours and a few months to complete as we roll out the managed payments program.
Within 24 hours of activation, your existing eBay listings will automatically be set up for managed payments, and you won't need to make any changes to them.
If you use third-party tools to help manage your listings, inventory or finances, or to issue refunds, there should be no change in how you use those tools when you are activated for managed payments.
